At the same time, Vandelli Boiler, leveraging the inherent advantages of semi-coke while addressing its shortcomings, has fully utilized its benefits and employed proprietary technology to mitigate and resolve its deficiencies. This led to the development of a high-temperature gasification and pyrolysis combustion semi-coke boiler. The principle involves first gasifying the semi-coke to convert it into combustible gas, which is then burned to produce hot water, steam, or heat thermal oil. A key feature of this equipment is that gasification and combustion occur almost simultaneously within microseconds. The rectification plan for coal-fired boilers above 20 tons, announced before October 31, 2016, includes four options: 1. Grid connection: Priority given to boilers meeting grid connection conditions. 2. Natural gas: Preference for natural gas where pipeline networks are available. 3. Installation of desulfurization and denitrification equipment: Retrofitting existing coal-fired boilers with such equipment without replacement. 4. Semi-coke: Converting coal-fired boilers to use semi-coke as a clean energy source. Industry experts recommend that, among these options, boilers capable of grid connection should be prioritized for that solution. For boilers that cannot be connected to the grid, converting coal-fired boilers to semi-coke boilers is the preferred alternative. This approach significantly reduces both equipment investment and operational costs while fully complying with environmental emission standards. As a clean fuel, semi-coke produces lower levels of SO2, NOx, dust, and heavy metals during combustion compared to raw coal. Its post-combustion emissions meet environmental requirements and have been recognized as a clean energy source by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Hebei Provincial Government, exempting it from coal consumption quotas. Semi-coke boasts a high calorific value of 6,200 kcal/kg, an annual production exceeding 100 million tons, and highly competitive pricing. However, due to its low volatile content and unique carbon particle structure, semi-coke faces challenges such as difficulty igniting and incomplete combustion in conventional boilers, which has severely limited its widespread adoption in industrial boilers.
